I met Heiki at the faculty of music in Vancouver where she presented a work on musical traditions of the First Nations native Americans from Canada.
Conocí a Heiki en la facultad de música de Vancuver; presentaba un trabajo sobre las tradiciones musicales de los pueblos nativos americanos de Canadá.

A wide variety of musical genres, each aboriginal community has her own unique musical traditions and uses a variety of musical instruments accompanied by musical traditions and uses a variety of musical instruments accompanied by chanting, singing, dancing.
Hablaba del conjunto de géneros musicales cada uno representando a su
comunidad aborigen , sus tradiciones musicales, sus propios instrumentos cantando en coro, solos y bailaban.

I read somewhere that for many years after the arrival of Europeans to Canada, First Nations people were forbidden to practice their ceremonies.
Había leído años antes, que con la llegada de los colonizadores europeos, las naciones aborígenes tenín prohibido la práctica de sus ceremonias.

That why their is so little information about First Nation music and musical their instruments.
Y por lo mismo había poca información de su música y los instrumentos musicales originales de sus naciones nativas.

Heiki gave a sample of the songs and dance while an aborigine friend was playing the drums.
Heiki presentó una muestra de las canciones y danzas ancestrales de su
pueblo, mientras que un amigo de su tribu percutía los tambores.

She impressed me from the first moment I saw her; her soft gentle crystal clear voice, captivated the audience.
La ví y me impresionó al primer momento ; su suave , cristalina y sutil voz cautivó a la audiencia.

I could see that everyone was drinking every word she said.
Mientras hablaba, ví como el público le prestaba profunda atención.

Her small yet elegant frame filled the stage, smiling unpretentious, for a moment our eyes met and I was mesmerized by their violet color, so pure so intense,... I felt a pound in my heart.
Su pequeña y elegante figura hacia fuerte presencia. Lucía sonriente y humilde y por un momento me atrajeron sus ojos violeta de intensa y transparente mirada;… sentí una fuerte punzada en mi corazón.

Later while we were having some cocktails, my friend the director of the faculty made the formal introductions.
Poco más tarde a la hora del coctel mi amigo el director de la facultad me presentó formalmente a Heiki.

I learned that she was herself of First Nations descent through her father, her mother was French.
Supe que ella era descendiente directa del pueblo nativo por parte de su
padre y que su madre era francesa.

The evening continued well into the early hours of the morning, well absorbed as we were in the conversation,.. it sealing our friendship.
La velada continuó llegando casi el amanecer, estábamos absortos en franco intercambio sin reparar en tiempo alguno .

Then it hits me, she was the nightingale of my dreams! that why I was so mesmerized.
Entonces quedé fascinado; … quedé enganchado por el atractivo de su encanto

Later she introduced me to her parents and the rest of the family.
Más tarde me presentó a sus padres y al resto de la familia.

Her father and I developed a strong bond and he taught me some traditional male love songs.
Su padre y yo hicimos una fuerte amistad y me enseñó una canción de amor tradicional

For Heiki birthday I sang couple of those songs.
Para el cumpleaños de Heiki canté dos de aquellas canciones. Heiki was so moved that tears runned along her cheeks. Ella se conmovió hasta las lágrimas mojando sus mejillas.

She looked at me with fervor and I knew we were in love.
Me miró con fervor y supimos que estábamos enamorados.

It was a sublime moment;.. we just hold hands locked in each other gaze and drunk the water of life.
Fue un momento sublime; ...asi justo cuando nos tomamos las manos y bebimos del agua de la vida.

By the way the name Heiki mean to touch in native american.
Por cierto el nombre de Heiki significa tocar en el lenguaje nativo americano
